We don’t write much about weddings when we blog them. Kind of like a “Let the pictures do the talking” except in reality it’s because I (Glenn) can’t write… good… so it’s easier not to.
But Sarah+Sam’s wedding was a day of ridiculousness. Ridiculous in the sense that there was so much full-on joy throughout the day that it was impossible not to smile as we were editing (and editing is by far the least fun part of being a photographer) and reliving the day.
The joy at Sarah’s house when the bridesmaids were getting ready and reading the notes that Sarah had written for them. The joy that Sarah had when she read the letter that Sam had left for her. The joy and elation of absolutely everyone when it POURED down with rain the moment Sarah got to the end of the aisle (like, seriously bucketed down – out of nowhere). The joy as Sarah+Sam ran off to be alone for five minutes when they were announced wife+husband.
Anyone that knows us knows that shooting in the rain is our favourite. But amongst the pouring rain, amongst all the amazing parts of the day, the thing that made us smile the most on the day and even now, is how during the hugs and congratulations part of the day, Sarah+Sam barely let go of each others’ hands.
After a while, it’s the littlest stuff at a wedding that makes the biggest statement.
